Shimmer Color Background

Today I am showing you a card I did on my Twosday's Techniques site!  I LOVE how it came out!

Have you ever stood back and looked at something you made and are so surprised at how good it came out?  That is what happened to me with this card.  The colors go GREAT together and the whole card POPS!!  Even my Husband said 'wow' when he saw it!  I always show him what I do, and if he doesn't like it, I change it until he does!  I love that I have quality control here in my own home.    He is very supportive of me and my business, and I appreciate all he does for me.

Are you ready to see it now?  I just hope that you love it as much as I do!

It is so sparkly in person!!  I am so happy that SU! decided to continue the Silver Slimmer paper!!

I also am in love with the framelits!  I used the 1st, 2nd and 3rd from center to make this.

If you would like to see a step by step video on how to make the background (It's shimmery too!), you can join my site:  Twosday's Techniques   If you take advantage of signing up now, you will save a lot of money!  Right now I am offering 6 months for 2 technique videos EACH week for $35.00 OR one year for $60.00!!  My daughter runs the site, I add the videos and she is going to change up the payments on February 1st 2012.  ALL who sign up beforehand will be Grandfathered in and will always pay the cheaper price.

What do you get for the price?  Well here it is:

1.  TWO step by step technique videos each week!

2..WRITTEN instructions you can print off for your customers or yourself if you don't want to     keep stopping the video.

3.  A Picture of the card to show you what it looks like.

4.  Dimensions AND supplies needed to complete the card/project.

I know that this sounds like a commercial, and if you are still reading Hooray for you!!    I work hard every week on these videos and the techniques range from difficult to Easy, this way if you don't have the patience to do something hard, you can learn something new that will be simple to do, yet still make people say 'Wow!'

Thank you for checking out my blog, it's been a while since I posted, but my New Year resolution is to blog every week.

You are more than welcome to write in my comment area and BUG me if I don't!

NC Blog Hop!

I've been super busy lately,As you may know I am in charge of Twosday's Techniques where I make TWO technique videos EVERY Tuesday!  Right now there are over 130 videos on the site, with 2 more each Tuesday!!

This Blog Hop, is from  North Carolina SU! Demonstrator group and they are the BEST group ever!

I am doing two projects for you today!  Both of them use the Simply Scored tool!     On my Twosday Technique site you can see step by step instructions.  I also have a PDF where the dimensions and supplies are written down along with a picture and written instructions.  The cost is only $35.00 for 6 months (or if you are a demo), or $60,00 for an entire year.  IF you are my downline you get the site for FREE!

Are you ready to see my projects?!  They were a lot of fun to do, I know you will want to do them too!

This Medallion (or Lollie) was made with Designer Series Paper, Soft Suede and Pretty in Pink Cardstock.  I also used the Pennant Die for the middle of the Medallion and the 5 Petal punch.
These colors work so well together, and using the Simply Scored made it very simple to do!  You can place a bunch of these on a wreath for your door, or you can place them on top of a present.

My next project is one I made on my own, not sure if you can find it anywhere else!  It took me days to get it just right.    I want to be able to show it to you!!

Can you see how the folds are in a diamond shape?  The Designer Paper I used is from Mocha Morning
The texture is great, having these folds makes you want to touch them!  And to add to that, this paper is soft and fuzzy!!   Like I said to get these right, it took me DAYS!  My video walks you through each step using the Simply Scored tool!

I hope you come back sometime soon!  Now you can go to Regina Andari's blog Workin Out the Inks!
Click on button to go to her Blog!  You can also go back one blog by clicking on the previous blog button!  Thanks for stopping by!

The Open Sea

Today I am sharing a card I am doing in two classes.  I absolutely LOVE the new set out of the Summer Mini called The Open Sea!  It is very masculine and I just love every stamp that is in that set!!
The card I am going to share with you today, I am really loving!!  I was inspired by a card done by Dawn, but I changed up a few things.  I don't have the DSP yet that goes with this set (gotta have it!!) so I made my own background paper using the anchor and Vanilla craft ink and then embossing over that with clear.

The two classes that I am doing this card in are my Tuesday night class (this is a Hostess club, where you come every month (2nd Tuesday of every month) and buy something and the Hostess of that month gets the hostess goodies) and I am also doing it at my WOW card class on the 3rd Monday of the month at the Senior Center here in Kernersville, NC.   This class at the Senior Center I charge $15.00 for doing three WOW cards.  So, either way you pay around the same amount but at the Tuesday night class a Hostess gets the credit.

Want to see the card?!!  I did quite a bit of stressing the card, because I wanted to make it look like it was older.

Now, you see why I love this set?   The # to buy this set is:  123032
Anyone who regularly buys from me, or comes to my classes, gets to join my Twosday's Techniques  site for one year yet they will pay only the 6 month fee!!   Go register and you can see what we offer!  There are two free videos for you to see.   Every Tuesday 2 NEW technique videos are uploaded, doing techniques that are a little more complex, yet can be done easily since we walk you through them step by step!!

Sign up for any of my classes and you will get the discount!

French Filigree Key

I saw a wonderful card made from my friend and fellow Demo Regina, and it inspired me to make this card.  I changed up the stamp set, flower and ribbon, but kept the initial colors!  Thanks Regina!!!

I haven't used Bravo Burgandy lately and have forgotten how pretty it is!!  I also used Always Artichoke and Vanilla.  The ribbon is Rich Razzleberry which I think goes extremely well with Bravo Burgandy!!

I used the Stamp set from Stampin' Up! called French Filigree.  I stamped it using Versamark and then embossed with clear Embossing powder.  I used a couple of panels with one of the panels being framed by the Always Artichoke.

For the Vanilla at the bottom I punched it with the Eyelet Border and then ran it through a crimper.  I then sponged it with Chocolate Chip ink.

The flower I used the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle XL punch and cut up each 'petal' to give it petals I could manipulate and make more dimensional.  I punched the Scallop Circle twice with the top one being fluffed.
I then punched out a 3/4" circle, roughed up the edges and then sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip.  I punched a hole with my piercing tool and then inserted a flower brad (sorry I didn't realize until I was done that it is retired!!)  through one of the keys and put that through the middle of the flower.  I really love how it came out!!  You'll have to let me know what you think!!

Plane And Simple

While at Leadership, I saw this handmade card.  It was so simple, but it still wowed me!!  I figured that I would make it so you too could be wowed!      This card uses the Stampin' Up! stamp set Plane and Simple.  I am always looking for a stamp set that I can use for my Masculine cards!  I am always drawn to flowers and girly stamps, so it was a nice change to get this stamp set!  Is is available from the Occasions Mini #121964, so if you don't have it already I think it is a winner!!!

The cardstock I used is Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  I also used the word window punch.   And of course I used my Big Shot and the Square Lattice embossing folder (#119976), I first adhered the Early Espresso strip to the Soft Suede and THEN ran it through the embossing folder.  This gives it a uniform look and it really makes the two pieces become one!!

I hope you like this card as much as I did!!

Mostly Vintage Stencil Card

I received the Mostly Vintage stencil (#118877) the other day, and I have been mulling over ideas since I got it.  Have you ever had it when you go to bed at night, and all you do is think of designs you are going to do?  Sheesh!  I find it very dificult to go to sleep sometimes, because I can't seem to shut my brain off!  Please tell me that I am NOT the only one doing this!  LOL

So, after mulling if over I just decided to put ink to paper and just try it out and see what came up!  I added some Rhinestones to my handmade card, and I think it came out pretty well.  You will have to tell me what YOU think!!

This is really sparkly in real life!  And you KNOW that I love my Glitter, or anything that sparkles for that matter!!
It's an easy card to show someone how to do!  I love that the Rhinestones from Stampin' Up! have adhesive already on them!  I also used the Scallop Trim Corner punch (#118870.

I really wanted to make this card more ornate, but sometimes Less is More, you know what I mean?  Everytime I thought of something else and put it with this card, I just didn't feel it.  So, this is a simple yet elegant card!!

Hope you like it!

Easter Blossoms

Hey everyone!!  While I was in Nashville TN at Leadership, I saw this awesome card on the boards (they have all kinds of cards, scrapbook pages and 3D things displayed), I just had to try it!!  I really haven't done cards where it is all one color, so thought it was time to try!!
This card is great to show how you can use ONE color of ink, ONE color of paper, ribbon and some Dazzling Diamonds and still come up with a STUNNING card!!
I had my downline meeting last night, and we did this card.  They LOVED it!!  In person the Dazzling Diamonds really sparkles and it just makes this card an eye catcher!!  I wish my picture could show how sparkly it is!!
I stamped the image using Early Espresso ink and then went over the flowers with my Embossing Buddy and then some 2-way glue.  Sprinkled on some DD and WOW!!!
I LOVE going to Stampin' Up! events!  They really have a ton of things displayed to give you inspiration and ideas!!  I am going to try this technique again, and just use one color.  I thought for sure that the layers would disappear and you wouldn't see them.  But with some dimensionals it really pops!!
So, are you ready to see the card?!!

Make this card and you will be surprised how pretty it is in person!!!

I'm off to do a Video for my Technique site!!  My partner and I do a video each Tuesday, so we called the site Twosday's Techniques (two on Tuesday!)!  We show you the techniques that you really need to see to understand!   I would get so frustrated when reading how to do a technique and it would take me quite a while to figure it out.  So, I figured I would help YOU figure them out by showing you!!  You can check out the site here .

I'll 'see' you next time!!  I would love to hear from you!!

Thanksgiving Page - New Technique!!

Life got away from me, it's been almost TWO months since I posted last!  Oh My Goodness, I was on a roll and then I had a bunch happen all at once!!

Let's see........I broke my foot in October, went to Disney World in a wheelchair came home and had a complete Hysterectomy!  That was 6 weeks ago on Thursday!   I did what the Dr's said and did nothing for the first 3 weeks and then I S-L-O-W-L-Y got started again!  I did a class on the 4th week and thought I was going to pass out from being so tired!   I went to Nashville TN for Leadership last week and have had a class this week, and I feel SOOOO much better!!!

I hope you all come back now that I am back!

I wanted to show you this Double Scrapbook page!  I had too many pictures to keep it to one, so I made two!
It's Thanksgiving 2003 (I KNOW, I am WAYYY behind!!), and all my kids (five) came home (and my SIL came too!!) and because this wasn't our Christmas to have them home we put up our Christmas tree so at least they could decorate with us and then we celebrated Thanksgiving!

I really love how these pages came together!!  I got this idea for the Titles to stamp them in Craft Bravo Burgundy, then emboss them.  And then I came in with the White Gel Pen and made highlights on only one side of the letters!  For the first page the 'light source' came in from the right, so I only highlighted that side, and for the second page I did the left side!  My thought was the 'light source' was coming in from the middle of them both.  I think it really made it cool!!  Here  is a close up of the lettering:

Isn't that cool!?    I also used on the pages the stamp set Autumn Days #120000.  I stamped them using the Craft Burgundy and embossed them.   I also used the stamp set Cute by the Inch a Hostess Set #120130, it is a level 2.

Here are the two pages together:

Here is a bigger picture, but I couldn't put them side by side.  I wanted you to see the details.

The funny thing about the second page is I have a picture of my youngest (then 3) and from the time she came home from the Hospital, she would do these leg lifts.  Whenever she would get tired or stressed there she would be doing these crunches!  My son is copying her in the picture, you just can't see him doing the crunches.    I covered up with another picture where her undies are showing, figured she wouldn't appreciate it if I showed everyone!!

If you are here looking at my post, THANK YOU for sticking with me!  And if you are new to my blog, I promise you won't have to wait as long to see a new post!  That is for you that have been with me too!

I would love to see some of your scrapbook pages!

Elegant Lines-Easy yet very stunning!

The card for today is one that my good friend Naomi showed me.  I changed up the saying and the colors, but the design is hers.

I used the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder (#119277, $7.95), the Scallop Trim Border (#118402, $15.95) and the Red Satin Ribbon (#117286, $8.95) to make this wonderful handmade card!  The sentiment is from the Friendly Words Wheel (#114696, $8.50), Which I cut apart and now I have ELEVEN 'friend' sayings for only $8.50!!   Look at your wheels, see if you can cut them up and use the images separately, if you can, then you will probably save yourself some money and get a LOT more in the bargain!!!  I also used Real red, Whisper White and Crumb Cake paper.  And the punch is the 2 X 1 3/8" Oval punch (#119859, $16.95).  For the red behind the sentiment, I just cut out the red using the punch and cut it in half and placed it above and below the sentiment.  Hope you like this card as much as I do!  It's super easy to do, doesn't take many supplies to make it and it is still very pretty!!!

If you would like to purchase the supplies used for this handmade card, click here to go to my website and click on the shop now button!

If you live in the Triad area (Kernersville, Greensboro, Winston Salem) or close to it here in NC, I would love to have a private class for you and your friends!!  I have gone into businesses, so you and your co-workers can have some creative time and wind down BEFORE you go home!!  It's a ton of fun and I can be in and out in an hour!   I also have a LOT of Christmas ideas for gifts, so you can always give me a call and I can bring things over so you can make some AWESOME gifts for your loved ones!!  I make my gifts each and every year and my family cherishes them!  :-0
