Don't Do It!! And Blog Candy

Do you know what day it is Today????  It is No Housework Day!!  Don't you love it?!!

I wanted to grab your attention with my Title, so you would look and NOT do any Housework!  My scrapbook page today is about Spring, but I don't want ANY OF YOU to do any Spring Cleaning today!!

When my husband asks why didn't I do any housework today, I will just tell him that it was on the Calendar!

Now I want to show you what page I did today.  I used the Upcoming Stamp set from SU! called Elements of Style.  It will be available as of the first of May.  You can see it when your Summer Mini comes in the mail!  IF you have purchased from me, or wish to in the near future, I can send you a Summer Mini, Just let me know!!  I just HAD to have it as soon as I saw it!  It is very Vintagey (that's a word, right?!), and very elegant!  The Hummingbird is so pretty, and all the flowers......

Here is one of the embellishments I did for the page:

This is a flower I made using the 1/2" Polka Dot Ribbon called Melon Mambo, I cut about 2" and then folded it in half, and that made my petals.  I used the Basic Jumbo Grommets for the center, and then put a Build a Brad inside that.  I cut a piece of the ribbon to go in the middle of the BAB, and I used the crimper to make a leaf!  Pretty cool, right?

Here is another embellishment I have on the page:

You KNOW how fast those hummingbirds are!  Well, I wanted to capture that, so I used two markers to color him, Pink Passion around the edges and Pixie Pink for the rest of the body.  Once I stamped him near the flowers, I worked backwords just huffing on the stamp and then stamping without re-inking.  I did it twice, each time the image is a little lighter.  I think it looks like he is moving......what do you think?

Here is a close up of the corner of the page, this is the top right.  I have the same image in the top left, and stamped a few times in the bottom right side of the page.  I left the bottom left empty, so the flower would stand out.

Using markers, you really get to have that pretty detail.

And last but not least, behind the middle panel where you would have a picture is a pull out for journaling.  Sometimes I don't have the space to Journal, or it's too pretty and I don't want to write on the page.  I used a piece of that same ribbon I used for the flower to act as the pull for the journaling tag.  This way, the page really flows!!  I stamped the same flowers, but stamped off twice BEFORE I stamped on the background of the tag.  This way, it is pretty behind your writing, and continues the theme.  You can't see in this photo, but I lined up the tag making sure it was even, and then drew lines across to make sure my handwriting didn't go downhill!

AND, now for the page!  Are you ready?  I am very happy about it!!

I love it!!   Now, of course you can change the Paper color and the ribbon color to blue, if you don't like pink.  I think the Bermuda Bay
would be GREAT also!

Lovely page and like the hidden journaling. I couldn't find the blush blossom paper--probably my monitor...
